Stand Up Paddle Saint Pete Beach

Monday, October 28, 2013 | Chase Kosterlitz

The temperatures here around Saint Pete Beach are finally starting to cool off and make for great stand up paddle conditions! Fall is our favorite time of year to get out on the water for our Ft. Desoto stand up paddle nature tours. The water in the entire Saint Pete Beach and Tampa Bay area starts to get very clear and allows us to see straight to the bottom on our stand up paddle boards.  View Full Post

Water Monkey is excited to announce 4 new sponsors for our 4th Annual Fall Paddle Festival on October 19th! Grass Racks, Quickblade Paddles, Distressed Mullet and MTI Adventurewear will all take part in making this event the best race to attend in Florida! Check out their info below and visit their website! More sponsors mean more awesome prizes and raffles!!!

Grassracks
Grassracks' mission is to create a line of functional AND stylish board racks and shelving (with more to come in the near future). Using super strong, beautifully grained and very sustainable bamboo, we're giving board sport athletes the chance they've needed to organize, save space and display their boards in a deserving manner.

Quickblade Paddles
Making Paddles since 1989, Quickblade products are the natural evolution of paddle performance founded on years of competitive racing by Jim Terrell. Jim's paddling career began in southwest Ohio on the Little Miami River near his hometown of Milford. The signature feature of all Quickblade paddles is excellent performance. A quick catch at the beginning and a clean exit at the end of the stroke prompted the name Quickblade. Only after determining the ultimate requirements for performance, was the compromise of strength, durability, lightweight and cost addressed.

Distressed Mullet

This site is dedicated to Stand Up Paddleboarding SUP. From SUP racing, to stand up surfing, to SUP race training, SUP equipment and technique, I'll post the latest information. The name "Distressed Mullet" comes from a fly-fishing guide, Seth Vernon. We were "walking the dog" with some topwater lures and getting slammed by redfish. I said, "Seth, why do they go nuts over this red cork-looking thing?" He responded, "Because it looks like a distressed mullet. Nothing in the world can resist a distressed mullet."

MTI Adventurewear
We can kayak, canoe, paddleboard, swim and sail just five minutes from our office and warehouse in Plympton. As MTI enters its 20th year of business, we reflect on what a wonderful adventure it has been. From humble beginnings in the suburban Boston home of the Takashina's to now having a sales, design, and distribution headquarters in beautiful Southern Massachusetts and a brand that is sold across North America, Japan, and Australia, we have grown with the sport of paddlesports. MTI is still a family owned business, and our focus remains on designing and building an outstanding range of PFDs for human powered on-water adventuring.
